Phelps Elementary Secretary Mirhonda Page, attendance clerk, accepted the attendance award for her school. Phelps had the best attendance of any school in the Pike County School District in 2015-16 School Year with a percentage of 98.7. “Thirteen Schools Receive Attendance Awards”
Attendance Awards for 13 schools that had an attendance rate of 95 percent or better were distributed at the October meeting of the Pike County Board of Education.
Personnel Director Joe Moore challenged all the schools to improve even more this school year. Phelps Elementary led the schools with a 98.07 percent attendance rate. Five schools broke 96 percent as follow: Blackberry-96.72; Shelby Valley Day Treatment-96.61; Johns Creek and Kimper- both 96.54; and Elkhorn- 96.45.
The rest with their percentages were:
District 1: Valley-95.19
District 3: East Ridge-95.55; and Millard- 95.29.
District 4: Belfry Middle-95.24; and Bevins-95.25.
District 5: Phelps High- 95.16; and Feds Creek- 95.64.
Each school was presented a nice plaque.
