Principal's Bio

My name is Michael Griffith, the principal of this great school in wonderful community.  I'm married to my beautiful wife Jennifer and have two wonderful children, Josh and Kristen. I taught mathematics at Betsy Layne Elementary and here at Kimper Elementary before becoming principal.  I graduated from Phelps High School, then obtained my undergraduate degree in accounting from Alice Lloyd College.  After spending 15 years in retail management, I received my teaching and principalship degrees from Morehead State University.  I live in the Kimper community and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to serve the students, families, and the community as the schools principal.  Feel free to contact me at anytime by phone or email.

The Pike County Board of Education is seeking applications for appointment to fill a vacancy on the Board for Division # 2. This appointment will be effective until the end of the term in 2020. Responsibilities include; setting policy to govern the District; hiring/evaluating the Superintendent; and levying taxes and adopting the District budget. Board members must:
-Be at least 24 years old and a Kentucky citizen for the last three years;
-Be a registered voter in the particular District of the vacancy;
-Have completed the 12th grade or have a GED certificate;
-Meet all other legal qualifications (KRS 160.180); and
-Complete required annual in-service training.

Lunch Tray Summer Food Service Program

The Pike County Board of Education is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.  Meals will be provided to all children without charge      and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course      of the meal service.  Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times as follows:
