GEAR UP College and Career Navigator positions have posted. There will be eight of these in your district, working directly with students. The link below contains the job description, qualification and online application. I’ve also added the job summary here.
Eight full time positions in Pike County will provide direct services and interventions to a cohort of school-age students by organizing and conducting college tours, job shadowing, mentoring, parent nights; and serving as a school and community resource on college access and awareness. College and Career Navigators (CCN's) will meet with students, individually and collectively, to develop a plan for academic success and to provide academic interventions and referrals to services necessary to ensure success. The services will vary depending upon the grade level of the students. The CCN will work with parents and students for as long, and as intensively, as needed to assist each student in academic achievement, becoming college and career ready, and adjusting to post-secondary education or training programs. The College and Career Navigator will monitor individual student data using an Early Warning System to ensure that interventions occur as soon as signs of concern rise (attendance issues, discipline referrals, etc.).
