Principal's Message

Welcome to Belfry High School – “where success is a way of life”!  As I begin my fourth year as principal of BHS, we are excited for the opportunities that we continue to offer our students and staff to grow as learners and professionals.

As a graduate of BHS and having spent my whole career at Belfry, I take pride in our Pirate family atmosphere. We are a close knit “family” of educators providing the best opportunities for all of our students. Whether it is academics, athletics or extra-curricular offerings, we work to excel at all areas in the educational field.

December 14, 2018 - March 15, 2019 11:59 PM

Made possible by our outstanding ERATC Platinum Partners: Lite the Night, and ByteSpeed, Inc.  The East Region Association of Technology Coordinators is abundantly proud to announce after 48 years of service, dedication, and, excitement in creating greater opportunity for the education of Eastern Kentucky’s children, upon this occasion of Mr. Harold Burchell’s retirement we announce the first annual Harold Burchell Lifetime Achievement Scholarship Award!

In that same spirit not only will senior students be asked to submit a video application that describes their accomplishments in the STEAM disciplines and community service. They will be asked to include their plan for utilizing their STEAM education to make their community and Eastern Kentucky better, following Mr. Burchell’s legacy.

The ERATC Harold Burchell Lifetime Achievement Scholarship Award is open to KY Public High School Seniors in one of the ERATC affiliated school districts, also known as KDE Region 8. The application process along with full rules and criteria for the award can be found on our website http://www.eratc.org/scholarship/ starting December 14, 2018 and are due by March 15, 2019 11:59PM.
